Snowman Crafts

One of the things that I absolutely adore are snowman.  It's that time of year when things are cooling off outside, some are already experiencing snowfall.  I thought I would check out what creative ideas people have been sharing about to create this cute little  "snowman"  guy.

The first one that I found that looks super simple is "Button and Yarn Snowman"

This second one I found is great for lunches and/or parties, "String cheese snowman"

The last one I found that I would like to share with you is "Popsicle Stick Snowman Door Hanger"

Now it's time to get my busy little crafting session going to try and make some of these cute snowmen.

What kinds of crafts do you like to make?

Browsing Recipes - Chicken Bratwurst

Chicken Bratwurst
Is your regular meal menu lacking variety?  Whenever I feel this way I get in the "browsing recipe" mode.

One of my favorite things to do during my free time is browse recipes.  I love to try out new recipes on the family hoping to add to the family favorites.  I like a variety in my diet.  Not only do I enjoy looking at new recipes but an added benefit for me I find it very relaxing.  Goodness knows regular life can bring plenty of stress.  This is also a great way for me to unwind.  It's a win, win situation.  I get to do something I love and feel relaxed at the same time.

When looking for new recipes sometimes I am looking for something in particular like a new way to cook chicken or something different to try out on the grill.

Here is a recipe I found in Better Homes and Garden.
Chicken Bratwurst and Onions with Broccoli Slaw SaladIngredients
  • 3large onions (about 1 1/2 pounds), sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/2cup apple cider or apple juice
  • 2cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
  • 1/4teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 8cooked smoked chicken or turkey bratwurst
  • 1/4cup buttermilk
  • 2tablespoons snipped fresh parsley
  • 1tablespoon light mayonnaise
  • 1/4teaspoon caraway seeds, crushed
  • Dash cayenne pepper
  • 2cups packaged shredded broccoli (broccoli slaw mix)
  • 8reduced-calorie whole grain frankfurter buns, split and toasted
Directions
  1. In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker combine onions, apple cider, garlic, thyme, and black pepper. Arrange bratwurst on top of onion mixture. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours or on high-heat setting for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  2. Meanwhile, for broccoli slaw, in a medium bowl combine buttermilk, parsley, mayonnaise, caraway seeds, and cayenne pepper. Stir in broccoli slaw mix. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
  3. Remove bratwurst from cooker. Using a slotted spoon, remove onions, draining well.
This recipe calls for cooking it in your slow cooker but with the warmer weather out and people doing grilling I think grilled brats are great as well.

I hope you enjoy this recipe.  If you want to receive other recipes from me, please sign up for my newsletter where I share more about the different things I love to do.

Finding The Right Work At Home Opportunity

6/19/2017

There are so many options to choose from when it comes to working from home.  Finding out which one that is the best fit can be a challenge.  Like any decision you make in your life you need to have a process.

Here is a process I use that has been very helpful for me over the years when it comes to decision making.
  1. Determine WHY you want to do something.
  2. What TIME FRAME are you looking at to achieve your why.
  3. What are the potential OBSTACLES in achieving your why.
  4. Find SOLUTIONS to your obstacles.
  5. Create your ACTION PLAN.
  6. REVIEW what your results are and make needed adjustments.

For me, when I first decided to work at home it was because I wanted to around to enjoy watching my kids grow up.  They are now in high school and I'm still working from home and loving it.  I started in direct sales and it is still my first love.  I never really considered myself a salesperson but it happened to be the "right" fit for me at the time.  I now enjoy working my direct sales business and I love to help others so I've broadened my work opportunities to include helping others with their business needs.

Now that you have some guidelines, the hard work begins - deciding what work from home opportunity is right for YOU!  My personal motto that I live by is "If my job seems like a job I need a new one"  which mean even though you're working you are enjoying what you're doing.  If you're going to be devoting massive hours on your dream it might as well be something you enjoy. The task will seem a lot more FUN!

I'm a list maker so I suggest making a list of the things you like to do or if it's easier make a list of the things you don't want to do.  Start checking out some options.  I would suggest trying to find an opportunity that has been around for a few years.  New startups can often have "growing pains" and success is not as high if not all the kinks are worked out of the plan. There are numerous work from home opportunities available to choose from.  Some are good, some are not so good and some are what people in the industry call "SCAMS".  Be on the look out for those.  They will take your money and run.

Everyone has a different list of likes and priorities so I'm not going to make any recommendations in this blog directly.  If you would like some more in depth assistance in finding a work at home opportunity that is a good fit for YOU, feel free to connect with me so we can discuss things further.

Wishing everyone success in their work at home ventures!
